IN OCTOBER — the aftermath of the war is spent rejuvenating the region. pokemon and trainers are hard at work, repairing natural landscapes, while clearing fields and mountains of macabre remnants. still, pools of poison remain where naganadel and poipole have fallen... until they are cleaned, poor unsuspecting wildlife may find themselves within these toxic traps, forcing them to become aggressive and hostile.[break][break][break]

near new mauville, a whole horde of voltorb have rolled into a vat of poison left by the decaying bodies of slain naganadel. the pokemon seem to be ill— and to approach them for medical aid in their current state may be dangerous due to their tendency to SELF-DESTRUCT. for this purpose, help them detonate together so they can be transferred by using bombs of your own.[break][break][break]

[attr="class","spiral"]Lillian stands a few feet from New Mauville's entrance as Magneton descends into the Voltorb-laden power plant. The pokemon has its marching orders, there's no reason for her to risk her safety voyeuristically watching them carried out. While it does its job she takes some time to do her own -- she can probably bust out a work email or two before it's back.

Unsupervised, but hardly needing supervision, Magneton surveys the repurposed city with its three eyes. The Voltorb sit stress, sick, and short-circuiting all around the floor. Without hesitation it approaches the nearest small cluster and gives out an ugly cry to catch their attention. The high-strung pokemon roll in close to assess and deal with this new threat. That's part of the plan.

Small steel balls slowly form on the Magneton's special appendages as they close in, and the moment the Voltorb are close enough each in the approaching crowd is struck by one of them.

The MAGNET BOMBS latch on extra tight to their supercharged targets before going off. The explosions aren't very large, and the damage isn't massive, but the sudden spike in adrenaline is enough to push the already panicking Voltorb over the edge.

Lillian looks up at the sound of several SELF-DESTRUCTS before turning back to her phone, glad things are going smoothly.

The young ranger felt really uncomfortable about being back here. While he was happy to defend Mauville it felt weird basically be back on a warzone so soon. Honestly he was most surprised that he didn't see much left of the literal kaiju from before. Though a Ranger's job was never done and just like he had to force himself to get over the war Rocket had on Johto he would get over the war here. [break][break]

For now it was dealing wit Voltorb, so he had Sage detonate them afar with the use of SEED BOMB in order to make it easy to evacuate them after. There was a hint of guilt there for doing so, but things had to happen.

as the voltorbs rolled around kazimir and his little octopus buddy were looked on from their hiding spot as they watched the small orbs group together. "right there! hit 'em where it stings!" the trainer called out as his grappleoct sprang forward and prepared an octozooka full of ink that blinded all of the voltorbs and caused them to scatter. it was only then that kazimir realized that they probably made a mistake with their plan, "uh oh...uh...get them together! we cant' let them blow up every which way!" the trainer screamed as he and his octopus tried to group them once again to try and set them off to explode and not try to get blown up to bits themselves.

Ruby wasn't entirely sure of this plan. Granted, Voltorb exploded all the time, but it was still not a pretty sight and it certainly looked like it would hurt. Still, she supposed that they couldn't exactly just carry them by hand when the risk that they would explode at any time was extremely prevalent.

With Laguna by her side, the Swampert seemed pretty eager for the task. After the pokemon species had practically saved her life shortly after she arrived in Hoenn during the attack on Slateport from the first Ultra Beast she had ever seen, she had been quite partial to the aquatic pokemon. With an affectionate pat on their back, Ruby spoke. "Knock them out quickly, will you? MUD BOMB."

The Swampert let out an excited battle-ready cry, quickly flinging huge balls of mud straight towards the electrodes in the distance. A few exploded from the super effective move, causing Ruby to let out a sigh of awkward relief. What's done is done.

It was strange that his specific, non-combat combat pokémon were so often called out into the field to some special task akin to combat.

Some aspect of their abilities, some utility they provided made them more suitable for certain confrontations than the rest of his growing horde. In tonight's case; the more natural of half his kitchen support staff was taking from her post to use her eggs as grenades rather than well, eggs.

After being the lynch-pin in his fight against a manic Sableye, Chansey was battle ready in or out of the kitchen. Approaching the scattering of voltorbs he crouched low and spoke as low from the distance from them. "Ready an EGG BOMB." They looked like several boxes of defective pokéballs had spilled unto the ground and gotten wet and were now shorting out.

Elsewhere in other pockets of the area he could hear the eruptions of other trainers triggering the self-destruct of other voltorb. "Take your time." He watched his round pink girl close one eye and stick her tongue out as she carefully aimed for the man-made pokémon in the distance.

With the final cue from Sénon, "Go." she lobbed her swollen egg right into a large cluster of their targets. The EGG BOMB detonated damaging many of them and knocking them into one another. Whether from damage to the body or to their patience they all seemed to light up in unison detonating just as intended.

Holding Chansey's hand like she liked he'd return clear the area to let the pokémon nurses, evacuation and transportation specialists do their jobs.
